[BRR] Asero Tovir

My application for the Borealis Region group!  I hope I make it in.    I'll probably make a few tweaks in the next few days, but here he is!

Edit: I got in, I'm so happy!!  And thank you so much to the mods for creating and maintaining such a wonderful group, I'm so excited to be able to interact with the fantastic people in this group!

Favorite Type:  Fire, though when asked, he responds with Steel.

Least Favorite Type:  Poison (especially poison gas pokemon)

Personality:  Normally, Asero is rather quiet and very serious, and seems very cool and collected.  He carries a deeply rooted sense of duty and a dedication to hard work.  Usually soft spoken and level-headed, he is a very reliable friend to have, once you earn his trust.  He isn't one to be the first to extend a hand of friendship, but can be very warm and friendly once he gets to know someone.  Extremely dedicated to his parents, he often speaks of them and his goal of raising enough money for them to retire, and also to find a safer place for them to live.  He is very comfortable around steel and fire type pokemon, but is very put off by poison pokemon, particularly poison gas pokemon.  When presented with certain kinds of dangerous situations, he gets a bit twitchy, and normally does what he can to avoid them.  Some examples include: high cliffs, deep pits, high speeds, rockslides, and just about anything that isn't a direct confrontation with another human being.  He has no problem standing up for what he believes, and will do so without flinching.

History:  Asero was born and raised in the belly of Scorpion's Pit, a town of mining and fire.  Before he could walk, his parents were teaching him how to keep himself safe from the dangers of the Pit.  Because of the hazardous nature of the environment, many people are hurt or killed every year in the Pit, and Asero grew up with the fear that one day, his parents wouldn't come home from work.  Despite this, he wanted more than anything to go help his parents work, and snuck out for a while when he was young to try and learn things about the mines and forges.  Once he was caught doing it, he was ashamed enough for worrying his parents to promise them and himself that he wouldn't ever do it again.  His parents are both very skilled at what they do, and are as careful as they can be, but they have still suffered various injuries over the years.  They are both very wary of fire and fire pokemon because of this, even though Asero has always meshed well with fire pokemon, especially as he became a metalworker.  Once Asero became old enough, his parents were very eager to send him out into the world to find a better life than they had, and to experience the vast world outside the Pit.  Asero left them with the promise that he'd do everything he could to find them a safe, quiet place that they could retire to, even though they kept trying to insist that he focus on himself and his own goals.  Now Asero has set off to recieve his destined starter and begin his own journey, and though he has a plan as to what he wants to happen, what might actually happen could be very different... especially if he finally starts allowing his true self to shine through.

Extra:  There have been a few accounts of other Scorpion's Pit residents swearing on their lives that they have seen Asero doing some very death-defying acts deep down in the Pit, each one claiming to have heard boisterous, astonished laughter paired with the sighting.  However, these claims were rather quickly dismissed, as the most anyone has ever heard from Asero is a light chuckle, and the thought of him doing something so utterly reckless is completely ridiculous.

Personality: Capricia is an incredibly vivacious little Litleo, and came as quite a surprise to Asero, who had been expecting to be paired with a steady steel type.  She doesn't hesitate to run off after something she finds exciting, and will frequently pull Asero out of his comfort zone in all sorts of ways.  Despite this, she will listen to him when they are battling others, or encounter other pokemon, but she pays little heed to him when he tries to scold her for being too impetuous or doing dangerous things.  Even though her daring attitude often makes him uncomfortable, Asero is growing very fond of the little lioness, and she can always seem to make him smile when she finds something new and exciting.
